School Projects & Soccer Games

I'm about a week late in this post, BUT better late than never! Mason's school had a little Art Extravaganza last week. He was told he needed to make a building to contribute to their class town. Of course, we waited until the night before it's due to get started. That's just how we do it!

So, we put Jess in charge of helping Mason with this project. I said, "Just find some cardboard and spray paint it." I then leave to take Maddox to soccer practice. By the time I arrive home, Jess and Mason have made themselves a nice big purchase at Lowe's. :-) This probably isn't a surprise to any of you that know Jess well.

Anyway, this is the master piece they came up with. I have to say that I was pretty impressed that Mason was helping AND learning how to use all the tools. I was a little bit scared as a mother, but he seemed to take to it.

The town was so cool! Some of the families really got creative.

The Sonic, McDonalds, and farm were definitely favorites!

I told Jess he is going to have to help Mason build an entire city now to go with his M Hotel. What else are we suppose to do with that building?? And just in case you're wondering, the M stands for Mason! :-)

Oh yeah, I'm probably jumping on the pride wagon here, but I am SO proud!! My friend pointed out a blue dot on Mason's artwork in the hall and told me that the dot meant something. So I found this little paper to tell me. Turns out that he won 1st place! I don't know anything about art but I'm still a proud mama!! :-)

Jess took a little clip of Maddox's first soccer game on Saturday since I wasn't able to be there. I realize that all five year olds cluster in a circle after the ball, but since it's my kid, I find it cute. Don't worry, no offense taken if you don't watch! LOL! :-)

BEST - TRIP - EVER!!

Okay, before I get on to the BEST - TRIP - EVER, I had to post my pictures from Easter. I know, I am seriously behind.

This is the way our family colors Easter eggs. We started this last year and have decided that this will now be our family tradition. I just can't justify coloring a bunch of hard boiled eggs that will NOT get eaten. Besides, who doesn't love a sugar cookie??

Easter was a little crazy! I had a choir concert that started at 6:30 in the morning. We had to be there by 5:30, which put me waking up at 3:30. I was a little worried that I would miss my kids coming out to their baskets but everyone was still asleep when I arrived home at 8:00. It worked out great because I made them all get ready for church before they could go see what the Easter Bunny left.

Alright, now for the BEST - TRIP - EVER!!! CORAL PINK BABY! I know, several of you out there are probably wondering how camping can rate this highly with me. I have to say that THIS trip truly does!! We have been going every year since I was 3. I now plan pregnancies around this trip. No lie!

There are about 23 campsites that make up a huge circle. My parents rent out the entire place and it is filled up with close friends and family. My kids wake up early and are gone all day. I only see them for meals and when the sun goes down.

Then Jess and I get to ride till we just can't take it anymore. Needless to say, but I am very sore! As an added bonus, we also eat our hearts out! It's safe to say that I gained at least 5 pounds. But boy was it worth it!! :-)

This year we headed up Tuesday night, along with my brother Jason and his family. Everyone else trickled in over the next two days. It really is what we look forward to all year. I think Jess and I are going to start going in the fall without our kids. So all those interested, should definitely go!!

WOO HOO!!!!

Two weeks with NO binky!!! YAY!!

I know, she is over two years, right! But really, it was the hardest thing EVER, trying to take it away from her. She is just too stinking' cute when she asks for it. Finally I couldn't take it anymore. She is just WAY cuter with out it!

Almost every picture we have has a binky in her mouth, hand, or clipped to her shirt. This was her first binky ever!

From then on, it's been her greatest comfort. Sad, right? You would think it would be her parents. :-)
