Christmas With The Prisbreys

I know I am a few days late in getting this post up but we have been out of town. Anyway, here goes....

Our Christmas starts Christmas Eve as I'm sure most of yours do. First there is the traditional pajama opening. Why I go to the trouble of wrapping them when everyone already knows what is coming, I don't know. But, I loved the tradition as a kid and so it is carried on.

Then we head to Claim Jumper for dinner with Jess' family. This part I LOVE! No unnecessary cooking and cleaning the night before Christmas and great food as an added bonus. You can't beat that! :-)
 

Next on the list, my parents house for mass craziness and fun! We were missing my sisters Debbie and Diane's family but everyone else was able to make it. Every year we dress all the kids up for a nativity and then sing the primary Nativity Song. The choosing of the costumes takes WAY longer than the song, but the kids love it. You may notice that we have one to many angels, wise men, and shepherds.
 

We have also started, in the last few years, to put on a little talent show. All of the grand kids learning to play an instrument, and even a few of the siblings, if willing, play or sing. I am enjoying watching each of them get better and better every year.
My mom also started passing out the grand kids presents Christmas Eve. None of us come at the same time on Christmas day and a lot of them are the same age and get the same present. So, in the interest of no one being able to spill the beans on what they were given, they all open them together.
 

After very little sleep, Christmas came bright and early! My poor kids didn't know what to do with only three presents to open. It sounds small, but they had their best Christmas yet. Although, when they opened a box with paper tickets in it to Disneyland, they weren't quite sure about that. Thankfully Jess' parents and brother Bryson spend Christmas morning with us every year and were able to save the day. When they opened the wii they about squealed me out of my hearing.

I have to say that my Christmas gift far outweighed theirs though! About three years ago my parents gave us beautiful Liz Lemon prints of Joseph and Ema. They have been sitting in a closet ever since because we have not been able to afford to frame them. Well, my wonderful husband decided to just make them himself. I think they are the most beautiful frames I have seen. They are not painted yet because he wanted me to pick that out, but they will be done this week and I am WAAAAYYY excited!!
 

We left at about noon Christmas day and headed to Anaheim to spend the next two days at Disneyland with the kids. Needless to say, after seeing it and experiencing it, Santa brought them "the best Christmas EVER!" Exact words! :-)

The trip was a lot of fun! The park was as packed as I've seen it and it was hard pushing our way through the mass crowds, but thanks to ridemax.com, we had NO problems! That is the best $15 ever spent. If you are heading to Disneyland, do it. They map out your entire schedule for you. We hit every ride we wanted, some twice, with very little wait in lines, and we were done pretty early on both days. It was like magic! You would never believe it if you saw the crowds that were there.
 

SO, now we're home, my Christmas post is done, and I am ready to start blog stalking again! I hope all of you had the wonderful Christmas I did.
